Bundling Waitangi Day celebrations up with Bob
Marley’s birthday, Radio Active popped down
to Civic Square in 1998 for a celebration of roots
and culture, and attracting audiences from the
ribbon cutting of nearby Te Papa.
“One Love” moved from Civic Square, to one
year in the dell at the Botanic Gardens, before
settling at its long-running home in the Hataitai
Velodrome.

Running for 14 years in the capital, One Love cel-
ebrated the best of local music, food, and art.
