Radio Active has had a long history with
music videos, beginning in the ‘70’s by si-

mulcasting the Broadcasting Corporation’s
“Radio With Pictures”

In the 1990’s and 2000’s, Active asked audi-

ences a new question:
Can you Handle The Jandal?

Beginning in 1997, the Radio Active 89FM DIY

Music Video Awards, “Handle The Jandal”,
celebrated DIY content with an grand final at

the Paramount Theatre (and later filling the
Embassy’s Grand).

Featuring the latest up and coming local

artists, put on the big screen by the latest
up and coming local filmmakers, Handle

The Jandal would captivate the capital until
2009.
