Alongside FM, the 1980’s also saw the switch
to much-anticipated full time broadcasting.

No longer constrained to term-time, the ‘80’s
sparked the introduction of some of our lon-

gest running shows.

“Uncut Funk” launched in ‘83, renamed to
“The Wednesday Night Jam,” it’s New Zea-

land’s longest running hip-hop show. Pete
and Andy still turn up every Thursday night for

“The Session” which began in ‘87, and “Roy’s
Time Machine” still begins Saturday mornings

at 7AM.
